I wanted to write this blog to share stories about what it has been like raising a child that doesn't fit the "norm" of society. Hadley is a girl and is okay being a girl; she just prefers short hair and "boy clothes," which has created a set of issues to work through as she ages. 

I have been a middle school science teacher for 21 years and live in North Carolina with my math-professor husband. We have a 13-yr-old son, Charlie, 9-yr-old Hadley, and the sweetest dog ever, Maggie.
